2. Why doesn’t my Picview have OCR function?

  • Requires macOS 13.0 and above.

3. Why can’t I select and copy objects in my Picview images?

  • Requires macOS 14.0 and above.

4. Why is the Logitech Anywhere 3/3s mouse scroll for page turning imprecise and floaty, and how to fix it?

  • Check the Scroll enhancement in Settings/Viewer/Mouse in Picview.
  • Turn off smooth scrolling in Logi options+.
  • Add an application-specific setting in Logi options+ to turn off smooth scrolling only for Picview

5. The page order is opposite to the scrolling direction, how to fix it?

  • In Picview’s Settings/Viewer/Page, choose the appropriate Page Direction based on your scrolling direction.

6. After deleting images in Picview, there is no “Put Back” in the system trash, is there a solution?

  • Currently, there is no solution; upon investigation, macOS does not provide an API for this support.

7. Can I switch between images in the same folder using arrow keys in Picview? Why does it work in some folders but not others?

  • Check Full disk access in Settings/Viewer/Open in Picview for the folder in question

8. In WeChat or other Apps, when opening images, I keep getting the prompt “Picview wants to access data from other apps, storing app data separately can make it easier for you to manage privacy and security,” how do I avoid it?

  • In system Settings/Privacy & Security/Full Disk Access, add Picview

9. On macOS 15.0, adding an Authorized Folder or authorizing Full Disk Access failed in Picview Settings/Viewer/Open, or double-clicking to open an image in Finder prompts for folder authorization but fails

  • This issue is caused by corruption of related data in the system Keychain.
  • The steps to fix it are as follows:
      1. Go to /System/Library/CoreServices/Applications/ and find Keychain Access.app.
      1. Double-click to open it and select Keychain Access.
      1. In the search box at the top right, enter com.apple.scopedbookmarksagent.xpc to search.
      1. After locating the com.apple.scopedbookmarksagent.xpc entry, right-click and delete it.
      1. Restart the machine.

10. What are the differences between MAS and UMAS?

  • MAS refers to the version available on the Mac App Store, while UMAS refers to the version downloaded from the official website or other channels outside of the Mac App Store.
  • There is no difference in functionality between the two, although UMAS updates may be slightly slower.
  • MAS and UMAS are separate apps and cannot be used interchangeably for upgrades or activations.
